In 2019 Roadburn hosted some of the most exciting underground black metal musicians the Netherlands has to offer when they commissioned the collaborative project Maalstroom – performed once, for one night only. One fragment of that performance, written by just two of the project’s many contributors has shapeshifted into something new, and distinctly different. If you come looking for black metal, you may leave disappointed, but if you’re in the market for something more technicolour then we may have just the thing for you.
